Current Trust Administration Positions
For trust administration roles, candidates should have a general understanding of the basic principles and practices of trust and company administration and of managing financial investments and assets. As the experience required is quite specific, the best way to start a career in this field is with an internship within a trust department.
While there are no degrees directly related to trust administration, an educational background in business or finance is beneficial. In addition, a STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification will typically be required for candidates at the trust officer level and higher.
Trust Administrators are responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of trusts, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Trust Officers are responsible for managing a portfolio of trusts, including overseeing the administration of trust accounts and ensuring that the trust's objectives are being met.
Trust Managers/Directors lead and direct the trust team to ensure all operations are running smoothly. They are responsible for managing client relationships, developing new business, and ensuring that the trust administration services are delivered to the highest standards.
